Roselani Wise, 51, of Lihue, Kauai, was charged with second-degree theft on July 23 and arraigned on Aug. 12 before Fifth Circuit Court Judge Randal Valenciano. Her trial has been set for Oct. 6.
Wise, a former Hawaii Department of Human Services investigator on Kauai is facing the theft6 charge for allegedly receiving unearned compensation from the State of Hawaii from 2008 through 2012. An investigation revealed that during the hours for which she was being paid by DHS to conduct criminal fraud investigations, Wise was employed and actually working for the Federal Transportation Security Administration at the Lihue Airport, according to Louie.
Wise received in excess of $10,000 for work she did not perform, according to Louie.
